Mineral photomicroscopy is the photography of hand polished, paper thin sections of rocks as seen through a bifocal microscope. These images range from 40x to 400x magnification and represent a mere millimeter in actual size. Both natural and polarized light are used to expose the brilliant colors and complex mineral architecture found within common rocks.
